Recently we celebrated Catholic Schools Week, the annual celebration of Catholic education. The theme this year was “Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” The celebration of Catholic Schools week was kicked off with a presentation by Catholic Relief Services on Friday January 27th. The presentation gave our middle school students a look into what it is like to live in Ethiopia. This presentation focused on giving our students a global perspective. Thank you Art Wighcers for such an eye opening and education presentation!
The students also partook in activities that allowed them to represent the values of Faith, Knowledge, and Service within our community. Some of the activities included bringing in canned soup, making Valentine’s Day Cards for the School Sisters of Notre Dame and the priests, participating in “Color of the Flag Day” by wearing the colors of a specific country’s flag, Career Day and many more. The students enjoyed celebrating and learning through this experience as well as giving back to the community.
