Mentor
Time Commitment: Minimum engagement of once or twice a month, according to your schedule: minimum one-year commitment.
A mentor is a friend, adviser, teacher, counselor, and/or resource person. A mentor monitors academic progress, promotes greater involvement in school activities, encourages responsible behavior, fosters a positive self-image, involves parents, helps protégés develop post-high school plans and expands the awareness of career possibilities and the realities of the world of work and school.
Mentors are needed to make contact with NDSM graduates monthly and be a positive influence in their lives. Contact can be through email, text, phone or personal visits/attending events or dining together. The Graduate Support Program hosts several optional mentor events at NDSM to support your relationship and make the commitment convenient to uphold.
For more information, please contact Veronica Romo, Director of Graduate Support, at vromo@notredamemke.org or 414-316-5740.
