Get Involved!

The education that Notre Dame School of Milwaukee provides changes lives and communities. You can help us in our mission to provide a quality Catholic education that empowers at-risk children to break through socio-economic and cultural obstacles.

There are a variety of ways to make an investment, including a direct donation, investing in one of our key funding initiatives, in kind donations, planned giving, stock transfers, or employer matching gifts.

Volunteer Opportunities

Tutor/Classroom Volunteer

Mentor

Time Commitment: Minimum engagement of once or twice a month, according to your schedule: minimum one-year commitment.

A mentor is a friend, adviser, teacher, counselor, and/or resource person.  A mentor monitors academic progress, promotes greater involvement in school activities, encourages responsible behavior, fosters a positive self-image, involves parents, helps protégés develop post-high school plans and expands the awareness of career possibilities and the realities of the world of work and school.

Mentors are needed to make contact with NDSM graduates monthly and be a positive influence in their lives.  Contact can be through email, text, phone or personal visits/attending events or dining together. The Graduate Support Program hosts several optional mentor events at NDSM to support your relationship and make the commitment convenient to uphold.

For more information, please contact Veronica Romo, Director of Graduate Support, at vromo@notredamemke.org or 414-316-5740.

Library Volunteer
Assist students with book selection and check-out and keeping library in order.
Special Events Volunteer
NDSM holds several events throughout the year to raise money and introduce new people to our school.  Our largest event, the Salsa Sampler is a sit-down dinner/auction event that is attended by over 400 people.  Volunteers are needed to help with event planning including developing the program, soliciting auction items, decorations committee and setup/strike on day of.
As volunteers, keeping our students safe is the most important job. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s program to safeguard children helps remind us of this very fact. With the help of this program, the faithful are guided and educated about the responsibility of how to keep God’s children protected and safe. To learn more about safeguarding and ways to build a safe environment, please view the Safe Environment Bulletin and the Safe Environment Program Instructions provided by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
